The 2028 recruiting class continues to feature high-level defensive talent, and four-star safety Jalen Flowers is making a strong case for why he belongs among the names Notre Dame fans should be watching closely.
Through eight games of his regular season, Flowers has delivered an impressive all-around performance, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. The elite safety has recorded 11 touchdowns, 845 all-purpose yards, 47 tackles, four interceptions, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble, putting together a productive season that highlights his versatility and playmaking ability.
What stands out most about Flowers is his ability to make an impact in multiple phases. His 11 touchdowns and 845 all-purpose yards demonstrate his offensive explosiveness, while his 47 tackles show a willingness to get involved defensively. Add four interceptions to the equation, and it’s clear Flowers has a knack for creating game-changing opportunities and taking the football away.
For Notre Dame, Flowers represents an intriguing target in the 2028 class. His combination of athleticism, defensive production, and offensive versatility gives him the potential to be a valuable addition to a recruiting class. At safety, the ability to recognize plays, make tackles in space, and create turnovers can separate good prospects from special ones, and Flowers is showing encouraging signs in each of those areas.
With the regular season progressing, Flowers has an opportunity to build on an already impressive résumé and continue strengthening his standing as a coveted prospect. Notre Dame’s interest in the elite four-star safety makes him a name worth following as the Irish continue evaluating talent for the 2028 cycle.
Through eight games, Jalen Flowers is proving he can be a difference-maker in multiple ways. If his production continues at this pace, he’ll have plenty of momentum heading into the next stage of his recruitment, with Notre Dame remaining a program to watch going forward.
