2028 4-Star WR Jayce Halasz is making headlines in the Pacific Northwest, and his latest performance has given college football fans another reason to pay attention to one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2028 recruiting class.

The Graham-Kapowsin High School standout made history Friday night, hauling in a school-record five touchdown receptions in a dominant 61-0 victory over Bethel. Halasz finished the game with seven catches for 154 yards, delivering a performance that showcased his ability to change a game in a hurry.

Notre Dame is among the programs pursuing Halasz, who received an offer from the Fighting Irish in July.

The 2028 prospect has emerged as an intriguing target for the Irish as they continue building relationships with talented players across the country.

Notre Dame Enters the Picture

Notre Dame extended an offer to Halasz on July 30 following a conversation with wide receivers coach Mike Brown. The opportunity to join the Irish immediately added another major program to an already impressive list of suitors.

Halasz has also drawn interest from Alabama, Oregon, USC, Stanford, Washington, Wisconsin and several other programs. His recruitment is attracting national attention as schools evaluate his potential at the next level.

The 6-foot-3 receiver has already scheduled a visit to South Bend for Notre Dame’s November 7 matchup against Miami. That trip will give him an opportunity to experience the game-day atmosphere firsthand and learn more about the program and its coaching staff.

A Record-Setting Night

The five-touchdown performance against Bethel represents another milestone for a receiver who has steadily elevated his profile.

During his sophomore season, Halasz recorded 64 receptions for 1,019 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers established him as a productive offensive weapon before his latest record-breaking outing.

His ability to produce explosive plays and consistently find the end zone makes him an intriguing prospect for college programs searching for difference-makers on the perimeter.

Halasz also has experience playing defensive back, giving him additional versatility. His combination of size, speed and athletic ability has helped attract attention from major college programs across the country.

A Recruitment Worth Watching

Notre Dame’s pursuit of Halasz will be worth following as the 2028 recruiting cycle continues to take shape. With the Irish already extending an offer and a November visit scheduled, the program has an opportunity to strengthen its position with the talented Washington prospect.

His record-setting performance adds another impressive chapter to his high school career, but the next steps in his recruitment will be just as important. The upcoming visit to South Bend should provide a better indication of how Halasz views Notre Dame as he evaluates his options.

For the Fighting Irish, landing a receiver with Halasz’s physical tools and demonstrated production would be a notable addition to the 2028 class.
