2029 No. 1 Ranked LB Austin Phillips Continues Dominant Campaign With Monster Week 6 Performance

2029 No. 1 ranked linebacker Austin Phillips put together another huge performance this past weekend, helping lead his team to a convincing 35-0 shutout victory over Norwell.
Phillips was all over the field defensively, finishing the night with 17 total tackles, including 13 solo stops, four tackles for loss, and a sack. His ability to consistently get into the backfield and disrupt plays continues to stand out as one of the biggest parts of his game.
But Phillips impressive game doesn’t just stop on the defensive side of the ball. On offense, he carried the ball 13 times for 187 yards, averaging an impressive 14.3 yards per carry, while finding the end zone three times.
Through six weeks, Phillips has continued to put together the type of production that has made him one of the premier prospects in the 2029 class.
He currently has 72 total tackles, 47 solo tackles, 25 assisted tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, two quarterback hurries, and a pass deflection on defense.
Offensively, Phillips has carried the ball 80 times for 609 yards and eight touchdowns. The combination of physicality, production, and versatility makes Phillips a player worth keeping a close eye on as the 2029 recruiting cycle continues to develop. His latest performance against Norwell has only added to an already impressive sophomore campaign.
He is currently scheduled to be on campus November 7th for the highly anticipated Miami matchup where Notre Dame will look to impress the young dynamic linebacker in hopes of landing a commitment from him in the future.
